Before the city fully awakens, three monks walk barefoot through the quiet streets, continuing a tradition that has remained unchanged for centuries. Their saffron robes cut through the drifting mist, creating a scene where movement, simplicity, and devotion come together in a single frame.
Captured on a Sony A7R V with the Sony FE 28–70mm f/2 GM, this image was created using a slow shutter speed while tracking the monks as they walked, preserving their motion while keeping them recognizable against the soft backdrop of rising steam. The challenge was balancing the movement perfectly—too slow and the figures disappeared into blur, too fast and the feeling of motion was lost. Timing their stride beneath the sweeping bridge completed the composition.
